Assistant General Secretary [Administration and Personnel ] is directly responsible to the General Secretary on Administration and Personnel matters.
The most important resources in any organization is human resources. The critical function of the AGS in relation to personnel matters is to make short and long term staff plans, recruitment, selection, staff development, motivation and policies that are designed to maintain and retain good and productive staff.
On administrative matters, the goal is to ensure prompt and quality delivery of services.
He has the functional responsibilities of supervising the following departments, divisions and units:-
Baptist Media, Building services, Medical services, Personnel, Public Relations, Publications, Social ministries, Stewardship, Maintenance, ICT and Guest House.
In addition, he keeps an accurate and up-to-date inventory of Convention properties such as building, renovation jobs, purchases and maintenance of assets such as generating sets, equipment, furniture, etc.
He maintains up-to-date job description of Convention staff, processes Personnel matters, interprets and applies convention rules , regulations and circulars.
Ensures effective and regular performance appraisal of all Convention staff.
