QUOTE FOR THE DAY
If we claim that we have been transformed by the gospel and intimately know and love God, we should validate it by our obedience to His Word. — Marvin Williams

WELCOME TO THE NIGERIAN BAPTIST CONVENTION

The Nigerian Baptist Convention, which Thomas Jefferson Bowen started in 1850, has grown into over 10,000 Churches with about 3,000,000 baptized members and up to 6.5 million non-baptized members spread across the nation. This denominational entity has metamorphosed into twenty-three Conferences (ecclesiastical regions) in Nigeria alone. The work has spread to several other African nations including Republic of Benin, Cote D’Ivoire, Mali, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Chad, Niger, and Burkina Faso. The United Kingdom and the United States of America are also experiencing the influence of its growth and expansion.

SO THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE
John 11:11-16

So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” John 11:14-15, NIV

God is committed to meeting the needs of His children but the way He does this is His prerogative. Sometimes God responds to us in a particular way and before you know it, we begin to take things for granted. Therefore, in the process of meeting His children’s needs, God could allow us to experience SHOCKS. This comes sometimes in form of delay in His response to our needs so that we can be woken up from our slumber and thus our faith in Him is challenged and thereby strengthened.
The delay of Jesus’ response to the distress call by Lazarus’ sisters was deliberate. One of the reasons is that the disciples might believe. No wonder the Bible in Romans 8:28 says that all things work together for the good of God’s children. How much of God do you think you know or what is the depth of your faith in Him? This may be difficult most times to be assessed. This is one of the purposes delay serves in our lives— it is to make us know and trust Him better. Are you experiencing delay in any area of your life? Why don’t you examine yourself to determine if you are still in the faith?
