Introduction On behalf of the Church Training Division of our great Convention, I want to welcome all of you to this interaction, the first of its kind in recent years. I want to appreciate all of you for your constant support, and unparallel loyalty to the cause of God’s work in this area of Convention work.
Training What does it mean to enter training? It means to arrange your life around certain exercises and experiences that will enable you to do eventually what you are not yet able to do every by trying hard. Training is essential for almost any significant endeavours in life – running a marathon, becoming a surgeon, learning how to play piano. The need for preparation or training does not stop when it comes to learning the art of forgiveness, joy, or courage. It applies to a vibrant spiritual life just as it does to activities. Learning to think, feel, and act like Jesus is at least as demanding as learning to run a marathon of play the piano.
VISION
Wholistic Training for the body of Christ
As the Division saddled with the Training of all Church members, this is a challenge that all of us must rise up to if we are still going to be relevant in our own generation. We must break away from the tradition of seeing Church Training Ministry as just a programme to be observed on Sunday evenings. There must be a radical approach to organized periodical training at all levels of the body of Christ. To help bring this vision into reality, the Division is preparing a Manual that will help facilitate training of our members (Renewal). Intensify the Discipleship Drive of the Body of Christ
This is another area where we tend to focus more in years to come. This also has to be total in its approach. Our target should be for:
- Church membership
- Spiritual growth
- For service and
- For leadership.
I want to assure you that as a Convention we have more than enough materials to meet the need of our people in this area.
Age grade – Literature
We are also trusting God that after an intensive training of workers in this area of our ministry, the issue of book production will not be a problem, pray along with us
Once again, I want to say thank you all for taking time to come for this interaction. God bless you all. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gbemileke Tanimola (Rev.)
